Periodontics For Periodontal Disease, Gingivitis and Hallitosis

Periodontal disease is painless. It affects 75% of the population and often victims are unaware. It may also affect your overall health. There are warning signs and the American Dental Association and our staff want you to be aware.

  1. Do your gums bleed when you brush your teeth or toothpick between them?

  2. Are your gums red, swollen, or tender?

  3. Are your gums pulling away from your teeth?

  4. Do you see pus between your teeth and your gums when the gums are pressed?

  5. Are your permanent teeth loose and separating?

  6. Is that any change in the way your teeth fit together when you bite?

  7. Is there any change in the fit of your partial dentures?

  8. Do you have persistent bad breath?

If the answer is yes to any of these questions, bring it to the attention of Dr. Grkikian or our detnal hygenist right away.

We want to keep you healthy and happy for a long time. Gingivitis and Periodontal disease can both lead to other health issues. An ounce of prevention can save you many painful days and nights. Periodontal disease also creates halitosis (bad breath) and can be a sign that something much more serious is going on in your body.

Dr. Grkikian and the entire staff here at Y2K Dentistry is aware of the early signs, symptoms, causes and treatments for Periodontal Disease, Gingivitis and Hallitosis. Don't be afraid to discuss this very private condition with them and remember, prevention is the best medicine. As always, all treatments are strictly confidential.
